#AlbertinaDürer
Good morning!
Today I've got something slightly different for you - an exhibition review (if you can call it that haha).
A few weeks ago I got the chance together with other Instagramers and Social-media-people to visit Albertina (which is a famous gallery in Vienna) after opening hours for a guided tour through the new Albrecht Dürer exhibition.
To be completely honest, when it comes to art I have a very simple approach - I either like it or I don't. I'm one of those people that have their favorite artist, which they know a bit about and that's pretty much it. But lately I decided to get more educated on all this art stuff and started to visit more galleries and exhibitions. And this brings me back to this particular one.
On one Thursday evening all of us gathered in Albertina for a guided tour through the exhibition and let me tell you - it was amazing. Not only did the tour guide made the whole experience more interesting compared to just wandering through the gallery alone, but it made me see his work in a different light. The whole details and what a perfectionist he was really left me speechless. What I especially enjoyed were his drawings of flowers (that's the biologist in me speaking once again) and how he painted each flower separately and then incorporated it into his paintings. I was just standing there thinking: Wow, that dedication and work ethic (I wish I had that haha).
After the tour (and actually also during the dour) we had some time to walk around the rooms and photograph. I didn't want to go for the typical "photo of a painting" shots like everybody else and decided to make it a little bit more interesting (at least for me) and played around with perspectives and reflections (typical Jitka style).
So here are some of the shots I took, let me know what you think!
And if you're contemplaiting visiting this exhibition definitely do so! It's totally worth it and the experience can bring a healthy dosis of perfectionism into your daily life haha.
