Update
Hi there!
It's been quite some time since I last posted something, huh?
Life's been crazy busy lately and I've been pretty much non stop on the go since the middle of March. I kinda wanted to post something more about all those trips and travels but usually another one followed straight away (or I had to do something for uni for once haha), that I didn't really get to it.
I've been to Romania for two events regarding the release of the Canon EOS RP (which I still can¨t believe that I've been a part of!), did a roadtrip around Iceland (and made my childhood dream come true), went to Sweden for the very first time, revisited London thanks to some incredibly cheap flights, went on a holiday to Greece, travelled around Czech Republic (because exploring your home country is fun) and what I would like to focus the posts on: travelled by train to all the parts/states of Austria (well, I haven't been to Vorarlberg yet, but that's still coming).
I called this "roadtrip" (is it a roadtrip if I took the train?) "Einmal durch Österreich", which translates to "Once around Austria". Not gonna lie, this exact trip wasn't really planned, but it kind of happened that I visited three states during three days and at one point I decided I'm gonna visit all the states/province there are in Austria during this summer. And ta-da, 8/9 done and like I mentioned before, the last one is coming soon.
Well the major reason why I did/do this is photography. I was desperate to go to the mountains and finally shoot some landscapes again (says the girl who spent two weeks in Iceland shooting nothing but landscapes) and also, I get a bit restless if I'm home/ in one place for longer than a week and I spent 3 WHOLE WEEKS STUDIYNG IN VIENNA IN JUNE. So it was inevitable that something like this would happen.
Almost everyday for 2 weeks I took the first possible train going from Vienna to my final destination and returned around midnight, which left my appartment in a state that no appartment should be in. But even tho I was (and still am) a tired mess, this freedom of spontaneously going somewhere made it all worth it. And I feel like you can also see it in my photos (but I will talk some other time about that).
So I went to: Waldviertel, Neusiedler See/ Lake Neusiedl, Golling waterfall, Salzburg, Feuerkogel and Lake Traun, Innsbruck for two days, Graz, Semmering, had a day off in Vienna, Thaya-March-Auen at the Austrian-Slovakian border to stalk some animals, Hinterstoder (Schiederweiher and Höss) and to Klagenfurt and Pörtschach am Wörthersee (also for two days). What is left now is Voralberg and I would still love to visit some more places in Tirol, climb Semmering (and not only do the 20-Schilling-Hike), go to Attersee (or maybe Traunsee again), hike one of the mountains around Vienna (but I'm willing to wait with that and do it with some uni friends of mine) and explore Wachau a bit more (might happen on Tuesday). To be completely honest, the list of what i would love to visit in Austria is endless (Dachstein glacier once again, all the lakes, Julian Alps, souther Styria…) but these are only the goals achievable in the near future.
I would love to virtually také you on the trips with me/ show you the beauty of Austria. So for the next few posts, I will write about each of my trips and show you some photos. Not only am I going to be able to share more photos than I do on my Instagram (lol, good reason Jitka), but also, this would be some kind of a "travel diary" for me to look back on and remember this insane summer and all the amazing memories.
I hope you ready for this and that you will like it!
If anyone's actually reading this, let me know what you think and if you have any more suggestions which places I should visit!
Have a nice day,
Jitka
