A day trip to Prague
Hi!
I'm here with a few shots from a Friday a few weeks ago aka the day I went to Prague to see a friend of mine and couldn't resist the puppy eyes my camera was making (I'm so weak omg, I literally can't leave my house without my camera) and took it with me.
At first I thought bringing my camera with me was a bad decision because the weather in my hometown and during the whole bus ride was absolutely terrible but as soon as we reached Prague the sky was blue and the sun was shining. So I immediately started thinking about possible places to shoot during the golden hour.
I met with the friend, we walked for a bit, caught up on what's been going on in our lives lately and because the weather was so good, we decided to spent most of the day walking around the city center (well, we actually walked to a shop I wanted to buy a pair of jeans in, but we took a little detour to not spend the whole day shopping).
What I immediately realised was, that Prague isn't Vienna (lol, well done Jitka...). What I mean is, that I find shooting street shots in Vienna extremely easy. I already know my favorite spots, I know where to go if I want the perfect golden hour light, I even know where exactly the sun sets and in which streets I can get the longest shadows. But I had absolutely no idea in Prague. The funny thing is, I used to live in Prague for 4 years and I spent quite a lot of time walking around the city with my camera in my hands, but it just never felt "right". Yeah, it was fun and everything, but there was always something missing. And I could see it this time as well. The photos turned out ok, but nothing special.
But that doesn't mean I don't like Prague! I love the city to pieces and it will forever have a special place in my heart, I just find shooting street shots in Prague a bit challenging... and that would also explain why it took me over 9 years to actually produce some decent street shots, I just needed to move to Vienna first.
But back to what we did - we've seen all the touristy places, relaxed in the sun for a while and even got to see some wild life! Who knew that there were actualy some animals living in the Vltava river (fun fact: Me and a friend of mine challenged ourselfs to go swimming there once - 10/10 wouldn't recommend, the water is absolutely disgusting . but hey, we survived without any bigger injuries).
That's it for me today, I hope you enjoy the photos!
Have a great day, Jitka
